WHAT CAUSES A HIGH PH IN THE URINE ON A RANDOM DRUG TEST?

Question by social worker:
What causes a high ph in the urine on a random drug test?
Some of my female customers are randomly urine drug tested twice per week for the court method. Lately, some of the final results have shown a high urine ph. Besides bladder or urinary tract infections or poor hygiene, does anybody know what could cause this? Could they be taking bicarb or some other substance in an attempt to sanitize their urine that could result in this outcome? Thanks for your support.

There is some chemistry.some drugs excreted quickly on taking alkaliser(Bi carbonate,Potassium chloride),some drugs excreted quickly on taking acidifier (Cytric acid,acetic acid).

most of the time a high ph in urine indicates that the person is not drinking adequate fluids the greater the ph then the a lot more concentrated the urine will be,,,did you ever notice that when a person male or female has a reduced ph that their urine is a lot lighter

HCM2010 Webinar Series: New Material on the Use of Alternative Tools: Micro-Simulation Models

TRB is cosponsoring a webinar on June 21, 2011, from 1:00 p.m.-2:30 p.m. EDT, which is being conducted by the Institute of Transportation Engineers (ITE), that will examine new material in the Highway Capacity Manual 2010 (HCM2010) related to the use of alternative traffic analysis tools. The HCM2010 is the first capacity manual to offer guidance on the use of alternative tools based upon the research produced by TRB's National Cooperative Highway Research Program. Participants must register in advance of the webinar, space is limited, and there is a fee for non-TRB Sponsor employees.

Transportation Services Index: April 2011

The U.S. Bureau of Transportation Statistics' Transportation Services Index (TSI) fell 0.7 percent in April, the latest month available, to 109.0. The TSI April 2011 level of 109.0 was 3.2 percent higher than the April 2010 level. The index, which is seasonally adjusted, combines available data on freight traffic, as well as passenger travel, that have been weighted to yield a monthly measure of transportation services output.
