And yet it would be mistake to limit our focus to the institutional and economic dimensions of aged-care. There is an equally important moral or personal dimension to the ongoing catastrophe of aged-care in Australia that demands a reform of our moral imaginations as well. Northern Heart and soul Melbourne Heart may be the new kid on the soccer block but with a geo-political divide as stark as Melbourne's a rivalry could emerge that would make AFL suburban rivalries seem twee. Victory may find no pleasure in being cast in the role of the southern dandies, but for the Heart, the mantle of the northern soul is theirs for the taking. Austerity: more than just a buzz word As the UK's debt crisis teeters on the edge of implosion, the government has heralded in a new dawn of economic austerity that is the harshest in living history.
