2011 TRB 90th Annual Meeting: TRB Minority Student Fellows Program 2010-2011 TRB congratulates Ruby Arellano, California State Polytechnic University-Pomona; Kyle Green, North Carolina A&T State University, Greensboro; Sara Land, Texas Southern University, Houston; and Anita Narh-Dometey, Morgan State University, Baltimore, Maryland, on their selection as participants in the 2010-2011 TRB Minority Student Fellows Program. The pilot program, funded this year by TRB, the North Central Texas Council of Governments, and Parsons Brinckerhoff, is intended to promote minority participation in transportation and in TRB. The program provides financial assistance for minority students from a number of historically black colleges and universities and Hispanic-serving institutions to attend and present a research paper at the TRB 90th Annual Meeting, January 23-27, 2011, in Washington, D.C. Video and Tutorial Help Data Users Prepare for Launch of Census Bureau's New American FactFinder
In January 2011, the U.S. Census Bureau plans to launch a revamped version of its data delivery tool, American FactFinder. The new American FactFinder offers a new look, new tools, and easier access to Census Bureau information. In order to prepare users for this change, the Census Bureau has developed an online video, the American FactFinder Virtual Tour, and a tutorial to demonstrate the enhanced features and functions of the new and improved FactFinder. The Urban Congestion Report (UCR): July-September 2010
The U.S. Federal Highway Administration has released its quarterly report that is designed to characterize emerging traffic congestion and reliability trends at the national and city levels. The UCR utilizes archived traffic operations data gathered from state departments of transportation and a private traffic information company.
