Participants were able to share ideas and learn from the more than 4,000 presentations in nearly 650 sessions and workshops. This year's meeting also marked the first time the TRB Annual Meeting Compendium of Papers went online as part of the TRB Annual Meeting Online portal. A DVD of the compendium will be on sale shortly. Look for an announcement on the Annual Meeting website and in the E-Newsletter with details on how to purchase the DVD. [More] | [Share]   2012 TRB 91st Annual Meeting The 2012 TRB 91st Annual Meeting will be held January 22-26, 2012, in Washington, D.C. The spotlight theme for the 91st Annual Meeting is "Transportation: Putting Innovation and People to Work." The paper submission portal will open on June 1, 2011, and close on August 1, 2011. Registration and the Housing Bureau for the meeting will open by early September 2011. [More] | [Share]   Understanding Capacity Modeling for Shared-Use Passenger and Freight Rail Operations TRB's National Cooperative Highway Research Program (NCHRP) has issued a request for proposals to produce a guidebook that explores the modeling processes and results that support the negotiation of service outcome agreements for the shared use of rail lines for freight, intercity, and commuter rail operations. Proposals are due March 8, 2011. Topics may be submitted at any time; however, the deadline for the upcoming submission cycle is February 18, 2011. All proposed new topics must be submitted online through the TRB Synthesis Topic Submittal website. CTBSSP is a cooperative research program sponsored by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) and administered by the Transportation Research Board. The program was authorized in late 2001 and began in 2002 in support of the FMCSA's safety research programs.
