The greatest oral challenge of our generation To stage a debate either tonight or tomorrow night would have a disastrous effect on this election campaign. Disastrous, because the actual staging of a debate would completely eliminate one of the remaining issues that seems to motivate genuine passion between the parties; namely, whether we should have a debate. Truly, it's the greatest oral challenge of our generation and it's dominating the dying days of this campaign. NBN: Crippling government regulation to blame If you were introduced to the NBN debate this year you'd be forgiven for thinking there wasn't an alternative plan. Time to face the dark side of science Escalating environmental problems could force a rethink of how money is spent on science and who gets to decide what is funded. Green preferences wasted on Labor Labor's campaign launch yesterday should have surprised, indeed shocked, anyone who has closely followed Australian politics in recent times. Why? Because the Prime Minister and other senior Labor spokespeople failed to say anything meaningful about what its former leader Kevin Rudd once described as 'the greatest moral challenge of our generation'. Educated decisions on school funding When it comes to her record as education minister it's clear Gillard's words are empty rhetoric and political spin. |
