The U.S. Government Accountability Office has released a report that explores an evaluation report of a Department of Homeland Security pilot test of air exit scenarios under its U.S. Visitor and Immigrant Status Indicator Technology (US-VISIT) program. US-VISIT is designed to control and monitor the entry and exit of foreign visitors by storing and processing biometric and biographic information. According to the GAO, the entry capability has operated since 2006; an exit capability is not yet implemented. [More]
